Falling From the Sky?!

No, not falling from the sky. From Above. From Jesus. The one thing that most changed my life was when my little brother was born. Then my little sister too. At nine years of age, I was at the point of life where I could remember details of life. This was definitely a big detail. I had prayed to God, asking for a baby brother or sister, so that I could become a big sister. He answered my prayer and gave me a gift straight from above! Now, at 14 years old, I realize even more how precious life is and cherish it so much. My little brother and sister are now 5 and 4. The years have flown by! I still remember the call from the hospital when my little sister was born. Not when my little bro was born though. Close to midnight, we were so groggy that we don’t remember it! I say we, because I have two older siblings as well, a brother and sister. Thank you God!!

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the Heavenly Lights. James 1:17

Summer Teen Tea

There’s nothing more relaxing than a cup of tea in a cool library enjoying the companionship of others. As lots of people say- there is never a book long enough or cup of tea large enough to suit me.
My mom hosted a teen tea party at the Delano Library last summer based on the book The Teashop Girls. I’ve read the first and second books, and they’re really good! I attended this tea party (instead of helping serve like I usually do) and we had a great time tea-tasting, eating yummy food, and doing crafts! It was a really cute and summery fun table setting, and I think people enjoyed it. I know I did!

Philly 3-Step Cheesecake

My mom made this for my birthday and it was amazing! Don’t mind the crushed piece with the candles. 🙂
2 (8 0z.) packages cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 keebler graham crust

Mix cream cheese, sugar and vanilla at med. speed until well blended. Add eggs, mix until blended. Pour into crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or till center is almost set. Cool. Refrigerate 3 hours or overnight. Enjoy!!
I’ve also made mini cheese cakes with vanilla wafers as the crust. Very good.

Coconut Cupcakes

IMG_0526
Below I have pictured vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream and a circle of fondant on top. Some have flowers but three have circles with M, O, M stamped with a stamp to spell mom. These were for my mom’s birthday since she likes coconut. The buttercream recipe is posted on an older post, so you can look that up too. All I did was dye fondant pink, stamp an M, O, and another M into separate circles then gently pressed them into the buttercream. I used a round tip for frosting the cupcakes. ENJOY!

Frozen Fruit Cups

These are my sister’s specialty, but we all love them! It’s a healthy mixture of:

1 10 oz. package of frozen strawberries (or unsweetened fresh berries)

2-3 sliced bananas

blueberries, fresh or frozen

1/2 to 1/3 cup lemon juice

1 6 0z. can frozen orange juice concentrate

1 20 oz. can crushed pineapple

Do not drain fruit. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and divide evenly among small plastic cups. Freeze. Take out a half hour before serving.

Orange Sorbet

This recipe came from the Vitamix book that comes with the Vitamix. There are lots of different types and kinds, but all sound great! We got one recently and we absolutely love! We probably use it twice a day for smoothies and stuff. I tried it for am orange sorbet and it was good, but we though it could’ve used a little more arrange flavor. So I froze the remaining stuff in an ice cube tray to save for later, to put in drinks and stuff.

Here it is!

Aqua Zinger Water Bottle

This water bottle is amazing! It’s a water bottle that infuses real fruit flavor into water, and it actually works! You fill the bottom part with fruit then twist it onto the water bottle. As you twist, you cut up the fruit to infuse the flavor. It works really well and I would give it a 10. Image

This is the bottom part of it, with the blade. Inside I have lemon and mint and a little orange too.ImageImage

New blog!!

Hello all of my faithful followers! I’ve started a new blog and it’s called 14 Years young. It’s all about life adventures, lessons, photography, and anything of interest that strikes my fancy! It’s called 14yearsyoung.wordpress.com because I’m 14 and “years young” because that’s how the Irish say years old.
I hope you enjoy it, feel free to let me know what you think, or anything you would like me to post about in the future. Have a good day!

Cocoalate

Chocolate

Definition: A deliciousness that makes you feel cravings more than once, made from cocoa beans.

Of course this isn’t the real definition of chocolate, but it sounded a little more appetizing than the real one. Not that you have to make CHOCOLATE sound more appetizing that it is already! Seriously, I don’t know what I’d do without it! Below I have pictures of chocolate cupcakes in a Wilton carrier (can also carry cakes and pies) and I decorated them with yummy chocolate fudge icing (also made by Wilton). These were good but not great so this post is mainly to show off the awesome carrier! I highly recommend buying one.ImageImageImage
